About “Paws at Mole Creek”

What started off as an informal discussion over coffee has grown into one of the most anticipated days in Mole Creek’s diary. In late 2008, a group of Mole Creek Progress Association members were looking for good fundraising ideas and before long that group were planning and organising a doggy feel-good fun day for the whole family. The idea appealed to so many people and grew to such an extent that before long, dog food companies, vets, dog-related charities, pet groomers, boarding kennels and dog trainers were keen to be involved in some way, whether by sponsorship, donations or performing demonstrations on the day.

The inaugural “Paws” was held on Sunday March 22nd 2009 and attracted well over 600 people and their pooches. The atmosphere was fantastic, the behaviour from dogs (and their owners!) exemplary and the result made it quite clear that “Paws” was to become a firm favourite for everyone.
We look forward to welcoming you to “Paws” 2011 !!

So What Happens at “Paws”?
What doesn’t happen?

Our popular Grand ‘Pawrade’ to kicks off the proceedings, then we follow with a heartfelt Blessing of the Dogs. Then comes a fun-filled day of various activities for our canine friends and us too – fun canine obstacle course, Working Dog displays, various stalls to tempt both pooches and their owners, lots of delicious food, Vetinary advice, Photo Competition Winners announcement, Raffles, drawing competitions, children’s activities and more.

Best of all, running throughout the day, our famous dog competitions. No serious stuff here, just lots of opportunity for your dogs to shine in front of a crowd. Do you think your pooch could fetch a sausage without being tempted to consume it? Or perhaps parade in all its finery to impress our Guest Judges? How about amaze everyone with clever tricks? Our competitions aren’t about how perfect your pooch is – forget immaculate grooming or textbook bone-structure – our “Paws” competitions are about real dogs that hold a special place in our hearts, regardless of whether they are purebred or bitza.

So come along and celebrate our wonderful furry friends on this great family day.
